Artists in Provence
Cezanne, Van Gogh, Gaughin, Picasso, Signac, Matisse, Braque, Dertain, Dufy, Marquet, de Staël. All these famous painters were inspired by the magical golden light of Provence which bathed the landscape in vibrant colors.

Paul Cézanne was born in Aix-en-Provence and spent most of his life there. This is Cezanne painting's of Mont Sainte-Victore. Hudson painted this mountain too.

Vincent Van Gogh painted olive trees in Saint-Remy.

Vincent Van Gogh painted his bedroom at Arles. The blue and yellow are traditional provençal colors.

Les Fauves was founded by Matisse, and included painters Derain, Dufy and Marquet, among others. The fauves painted colorful landscapes in Provence and seasides on the Côte d'Azur.

Pablo Picasso once lived in The Chateau Grimaldi. Now the chateau is the home of the Musée Picasso in Antibes.
